Experience

I am a French and German language specialist. I have had the privilege of being Head of German at Pate's since 2004 and have nearly 25 years classroom experience. My love of languages started early on in my own secondary school education, and I feel that I have retained that passion in my own teaching.

I enjoy the challenge of translating and decoding new words, the buzz you gain from being able to communicate with people in their own language and the love of travel. I especially enjoy bringing German-speaking countries and their varied cultures to life in the classroom. I have love to share my love of travel with students by organising and leading trips abroad with both cultural visits and Exchanges. Seeing my students' excitement at trying out the language for the first time or discovering "Spaghettieis", for example, never become old. 

Equally, collaborating with and supporting colleagues has played an important role in my teaching career and I am looking forward to developing this in my work as the Network Lead with the Isbourne Language Network.
